One of the many rest stops along the way... a must for any road trip. This is on Sunday morning on our way to Kumamoto.

We made it to the Suizenji Jojuen Garden!

In 1636, Tadatoshi, the third lord of Hosokawa began it's constuction. It took about 80 years to complete.

The park site was apparently chosen for the placement of the pond, which is spring-fed from Mt. Aso. Supposedly the water is perfect for making tea, and it also has a miraculous effect on one's longevity.

Fall Colors!!!

Where's Marisa?

Crazy Koi practically jumping completely out of the water for bread crumbs.

Many Japanese locals seemed to be enjoying the view along with us.

Shashin wo totte mo ii desu ka? Hai!
