In the lobby of my parent's beautiful Hotel New Otani...

Since Ben only had a couple of hours to spend with us before heading off to work, we decided to check out Saga Shrine. It was a perfect day to go since November is when
ShichiGoSan is celebrated (Shichi=7, Go=5, San=3) Children of these ages dress up and visit the temple/shrine...

kawaii!!!

Ben hung out with a wandering Samurai for a bit and practiced his Japanese.

Enjoying the convenience of vending machines!

Coincidentally, Saga Shrine was having a weekend Antique fair... how perfect! My mom found some really cool antique kimonos for 100 yen a piece! Here she is on her search...

One vendor had an old record player that my Dad took a lot of interest in. The man running the booth was kind enough to put on a record for him to listen to while he was waiting for my mom to finish shopping...
