The train we take up to Kagoshima-Chuo (station) has the most gorgeous view the entire ride...overlooking Kinko Bay, with Sakurajima volcano in the background!

right next to Ben's big prefectural (like a "county") office there is a huge park, with a little stream flowing through it... the kiddies love it.
Gigantic "Torii" entrance to a shrine in Kag-city with our new Canadian friend Virginia. She works in the same office as Ben for the rest of August.
