we live near an active volcano


Our majestic Sakurajima finally blew ~ see the video here ! ! ! Over the past couple of weeks we've seen lots of black smoke (darker than the usual greyish smoke) filling the sky above her.

No one was hurt in the eruption, so don't worry. The schools down below the volcano must be taking extra precautions right now though. I am going to ask my friend Patty what's happening, since she teaches at a Jr. High there. I know that the kids have to wear hard hats while nearby on a day-to-day basis already!

Oh my goodness...That is insane. You aren't worried at all are you? It is kinda cool though that you were there for it!
