I have been wanting to put up a photo of this waterfall for some time now, but haven't been able to due to a weak Internet connection that we've been using temporarily since moving into our new place. This afternoon, we got our very own Internet connection, so here I am blogging again, finally.

We found this waterfall because it's directly off of a main road up in the mountains of Kirishima, about an 1.5 hour drive from the city where we live. There are signs showing that it's a great place to stop for a pretty photo, or just to admire the beauty of the falling water, which just so happens to be heated by hot springs that cover this part of the mountain.

We decided that we'd swim in it!!!! One rainy trip up the mountain, we decided to just go for it. No, we didn't have any towels, and just made due with the partial bathing suits that I just happened to stuff in a bag before the trip. I don't have any photos to prove that we dove in, but trust me, it was a lovely temperature, especially on a slighty rainy, early fall day!
