spring vacation part one: ベ ト ナ ム ~ v i e t n a m

vietnam was better than we ever imagined.  we flew into Hanoi, and that night hopped a train down to Da Nang, and from there went to the old French colonial town of Hoi An.  Hoi An was touristy, but just right for our short, 6 day trip.  After 3 nights there, we managed to head out to try and explore Hue, a large city about about 3 hours north, but had a rainy day that slowed us down a bit.  From Hue we got on the train back to Hanoi to catch our flight out the following day.  Quick trip, but just wonderful!  loved the beach and our motorbike rides.  bargained my heart out to do a little shopping, and ate lots of delicious food.  What a week of fun with our friends from Japan!
