over the river and through the woods. a secret falls.

on Tuesday, we decided to head out mid-day to Kirishima and escape the heat of the city. we followed a mysterious sign on a little hike, and were pleasantly surprised to find a new waterfall! we stripped down since no one was around, and went for a dip in the clear cool water. How refreshing it was after being in the hot, ashy city.  Along the drive home, we stopped to admire some green green rice fields too, one of the things we miss about our "country home" in Kiire.  We just hit our one year anniversary of city life this month!

After driving down the mountain, we followed the recommendation of a friend and went to a beautiful private onsen~  I posted some scans of the brochure here.  It was so wonderful to have our own private indoor and outdoor bath and get freshened up after our swim.  We chose #15, check it out below...
